There’s a Reason Measuring Tapes Have Diamond Markings
Many of you have likely seen a measuring tape when it is being used, probably during a measurement at the tailor’s shop. It is also possible that you have even used one yourself at some point in your life. However, you may not know a tiny detail about the tapes.
Upon close inspection, it is easy to see tiny markings along the edge of the tape that are meant to assist people in construction with finding wall stud positions. In the United States, these studs are 16 inches apart.
