“Like Tears In Rain” – Blade Runner
Any true sci-fi lover will have watched Ridley Scott’s 1982 masterpiece Blade Runner. In one of the most climactic scenes of the film, the protagonist played by Harrison Ford is up against the antagonist of Rutger Hauer.
Hauer chooses this crucial moment to deliver an unforgettable line which includes the quote, “All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain.” Though it may seem like a perfectly timed line written by the screenwriters, the truth remains that it was improvised by the actor on the spot. For someone with such skills with words, it’s no wonder that Hauer eventually ended up becoming a writer.
