In The Silence of the Lambs, Anthony Hopkins’ memorable performance has left an example to be followed by other actors who want to portray the dark figure of a menacing person. Though Hopkins stayed true to the script much of the time, one of the most iconic moments was created on the spot.
It is the eerie hissing sound that Lecter makes when he is being interviewed by Jodie Foster’s character. This is what a great actor brings to a movie through his performance. It established Lecter as a man who is so evil that he can’t be redeemed.
