What Are the Odds of Conceiving Twins?
It’s not every day that one comes across identical twins. But that doesn’t mean that they aren’t exactly popular. Between 1986 and 2009 alone, the number of twin births in the United States increased by about 75%. As of 2022, the identical twin birth rate is 32.1 per 1,000 live births.
So for every 1,000 babies born, 32 of those are twins. That also translates to about 3 to 100 or 3%. So Brittany and Brianna belong to the group of lucky babies who managed to beat those odds and join the growing population of twins.
