You Probably See These Things Every Day But Have No Idea Of Their Purpose
Flaps For Toddlers
It’s difficult to understand why juice boxes have extra flaps folded from the top to the side, which seems to be wasteful. However, they were designed with children’s ability to grasp things in mind simply because they have tiny hands.
The flaps are meant to be unfolded outward so that they may serve as handles that toddlers can easily hold onto when drinking from their juice boxes. According to the Tampa Bay Times, Ruben Rausing invented this packaging in 1963 while trying to market his milk product.
