Like Willian Demarest, William Frawley had also stepped into the acting career with a recurring performance in ‘Vaudeville,’ appearing first in 1914 with his wife, Edna Louise. Their comedy act ‘Frawley and Louise’ went on till the two parted ways in 1927.
During this time, Frawley also signed a contract with ‘Paramount Studios’ to appear in silent films. He appeared in several movies before being cast in the role of Fred Mertz on ‘I Love Lucy,’ for which he is most famous on television. The veteran actor had already given almost 45 years of his life to the entertainment industry before finally joining the cast of ‘My Three Sons’ from 1960 until 1965.
