Girl Power? Mansplaining at work is 40 times more common than you think

She Literally Wrote The Book About It

People often say, “I wrote the book on (insert topic here)” to indicate that they’re an expert on a particular field. However, both idiomatic and literal meanings of this phrase apply in this frustrating work encounter.

With a new hire deeming himself an expert after reading the company manual, he came face to face with the actual expert who literally wrote the book he read. But similar to his fellow mansplainers, it seems he still thought he knew more than her. Maybe he should try sticking to reading more books before explaining work-related stuff to his colleagues.
