Girl Power? Mansplaining at work is 40 times more common than you think

It’s always nice for a co-worker to make an effort to get to know you on a personal level. But this encounter, we think, just crossed the line. This female worker seems to be knowledgeable enough about the history behind her family name, as many people are. Still, her colleague took it upon himself to mansplain the pronunciation of her own last name to her.

To be fair, he could’ve been technically right given the changes that immigrants make to their names to fit in. In reality, though, he probably was just spending too much time on Ancestry.com and branded himself a genealogy expert without getting the proper education.
