Jesse Williams was born to an African-American father and a Swedish mother. His African heritage was pretty much evident from the hairstyle he used to sport before he became one of the leading stars of television with “Grey’s Anatomy,” the medical drama on ABC.
After he taught American and African Studies in Philadelphia, he switched to acting with the legal drama, “Law & Order.” Though his old hairstyle was gone by then, his biracial features made him stand out among the crowd.
