Known as the Faraday shield, the lining ensures that the electromagnetic fields stay in the appliance and don’t escape and harm humans. The protection also helps with the food warming process, and if it is interfered with, whatever is being heated will not be warm. As such, one is better off keeping the lining intact; it heats the meals and keeps the user safe.
