Tiny Openings On Airplane Windows
Those who’ve been lucky enough to get a window seat on a flight have perhaps noticed a small opening at the porthole’s bottom. Now, everyone knows that airplane windows never open, so what are the purposes of these tiny holes?
It turns out that this little opening, known as a breather hole, helps the outer pane balance the air pressure when the plane flies at higher altitudes. We find ourselves comfortable at a specific atmospheric condition, but the air gets in through the cavity when anything goes wrong outside the aircraft. Well, this is an indication that the external panes have been messed with.
