It’s amazing how something so small can become a humongous animal. This baby hippopotamus is barely ankle height to the person standing by it, but when it’s fully grown, it’ll be bigger than an SUV. It will also weigh in excess of 3,310 pounds if it’s a male.
Hippos are renowned for their barrel-shaped bodies and trunk-like legs. Despite their massive size and awkward build, they can reach speeds up to 19 miles per hour. This is only for short distances, though.
