Maybe we’re exaggerating, but the flying squirrel uses a pretty similar flying technique to another famous hero named after a completely different animal. Of course, Batman does sound better than Flying Squirrel Man!
These guys are also nocturnal, like the superhero, and can glide long distances by spreading their arms and opening up the skin between their limbs. They are found chiefly in Asia.
