During winter, the sun is rarely seen, so plants suffer while people relying on solar panels for light find themselves in the dark. Perhaps there is a ray of light from the arrival of sun-man, as depicted in this caricature.
While the sun-man came with umph, hoping to have a similar hero effect to Batman or Superman, the opposite was the case. He found himself having to power up solar panels and shine on flowers, likely to initiate and support photosynthesis.
