There’s a hacker group known as Anonymous that wears these kinds of masks. The veils help them disguise themselves from the public. While it helped them remain anonymous, we didn’t expect someone, like this cartoonist, to twist it with this classic punchline for alcoholics.
This guy perhaps expected an all-mask party but found himself in a recovery group for alcoholics dubbed Anonymous Alcoholics. It could also mean a group of drinking buddies hiding behind the mask to drink more without getting noticed.
