Deciphering the Hunch

It’s easy to tell when a dog is uncomfortable and afraid by how it holds itself. You may notice that its body is tense and stiff. Scared dogs will also tuck their head in, arch their back and tuck their tail between their legs.

The hunch is often accompanied by shaking, which is a sure sign that a dog is triggered by loud noises, sudden movement, or unfamiliar people—or it’s injured and trying to nurse the pain.
