Find Out What Your Dog’s Sleeping Position Reveals About Their True Personality

When Dogs Do the Belly Curl

The tummy/belly curl is called that because the dog sleeps on its belly and crunches all four paws underneath. Sometimes the paws may extend to the sides but never fully. It’s an uncomfortable way to sleep because the muscles never fully relax.

The belly curl is the domain of most shy dogs. So you may find a pup yet to learn to be comfortable in the home taking naps this way. Unfortunately, this position prevents dogs from reaching REM sleep.
