Upon hearing the dreaded “V” word (we mean the vet!) the dog’s response is immediate and comical. He burrows his head into his blanket and bed, as if hoping the problem will disappear if he can’t see it. Much like how ostriches are falsely believed to bury their heads in the sand when frightened, our four-legged friend embraces a version of this myth in his quest for comfort.
While it doesn’t make the impending vet visit vanish, his heartwarming and humorous act of resistance surely makes the situation a bit more bearable for everyone involved.
