The NBA superstar Kevin Durant is a baller! However, he doesn’t seem to be a very big fan of science. All he needed was one curious (and slightly embarrassing) tweet for everybody to learn that he knows pretty much nothing about how astronomy works.
Kevin, these are just some of the ways scientists can study the Sun without being physically there: by examining its wavelengths, using spectroscopy, analyzing its radiation with radars, and using acoustic interferometry to learn more about its interior.
