Gene Stallings’ Fame and Reign Crushed for His Players’ Actions

Gene Stallings worked as a head coach of the NFL side, the Arizona Cardinals, and later on, of the University of Alabama. However, his fame and reputation took a hit when a former player made some poor choices.

That happened before he was serving as a head coach of Alabama. In 1993, Antonio Langham applied for the NFL draft after discussing it with an agent, without letting Stallings know anything about it. Two years later, the NCAA imposed sanctions due to Langham’s actions, and Stallings ultimately resigned out of frustration.
