Rhett Bomer and J.D. Quinn Dismissed from Oklahoma Sooners for Receiving Undue Payments
Rhett Bomer, a former Oklahoma Sooners starting quarterback, and teammate J.D. Quinn, a starting guard, were dismissed from the team following the violations of the NCAA rules. The two worked at a car dealership and received payment for 40-hour work weeks.
However, it was later found out that Bomer and Quinn had worked not more than five hours a week. This was a violation of the rules laid down by the NCAA. According to the rules, players can take payment only for the time they worked.
