The Murder of Jasper Howard

Jasper Howard played as a cornerback for the UConn Huskies football squad from 2007 to 2009. He and some of his teammates were celebrating their 38-25 victory over Louisville, outside the Student Union Center on their campus on the night of October 17-18, 2009.

At midnight, a fight broke out at the site of the celebrations, at the end of which John Lomax III stabbed Howard in the latter’s abdomen. He died from the wound of that single stab. Lomax got an eighteen-year term in prison.
