The Murder of Brian Pata
Brian Pata played as a defensive lineman for the Miami Hurricanes, the football team representing the University of Miami. He was expected to join the National Football League through the 2007 draft.
However, the student of criminology was shot dead outside his residence in Kendall, Florida on November 7, 2006, before making it to the NFL. He was shot while returning to his apartment from practice. The case was unsolved for fifteen years until his former Miami Hurricanes teammate, Rashaun Jones was arrested as the main accused in 2021.
