Eddie DeBartolo Fined and Suspended for a Corruption Case
Edward Bartolo Jr. is a popular businessman who has been under the spotlight as the owner of the San Francisco 49ers. He was the principal owner from 1977 to 2000 and played a pivotal role in his team’s five title wins at the Super Bowl.
The Pro Football Hall of Famer was suspended for a year and asked to pay a fine of $1 million for his involvement in an extortion effort by then-governor of Louisiana, Edwin Edwards in 1998, while also getting suspended from NFL for a year.
