Lyle Alzado Exposed the Use of PEDs
Lyle Alzado contributed largely to the success of his teams, the Denver Broncos, Cleveland Browns, and Los Angeles Raiders as a defensive end in the NFL. He helped the Raiders become the winners of Super Bowl XVIII in 1984. He died of brain cancer in 1992.
Though many pointed out that using performance-enhancing substances (PEDs) was the reason for the fatal illness, this might be a myth. However, following his death, the authorities started testing the players for any use of performance-enhancing substances in 1987 and started suspending offenders two years later.
