The existence of various date formats around the world stems from the diverse cultural practices and conventions that have evolved over time. It’s also difficult and short-sighted to expect all nations to adopt a single one.
The vast majority of the world uses the Day-Month-Year format, while Month-Day-Year is used in the United States. However, the officially recommended method of writing numeric date in Canada is Year-Month-Day. Yet, all three formats are still used in different parts of the country.
