U.S. States’ Commonly Misspelled Words
Despite the U.S. ranking seventh in literacy, it seems like some Americans still struggle with spelling. Google searches reveal the most misspelled word is “beautiful,” which is quite ironic. On the other hand, the word “supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” is no walk in the park, and it has many people scratching their heads.
While it’s not exactly a real word, it certainly earns points for creativity! Let’s cut them some slack for missing that one in a spelling bee. After all, as Mary Poppins herself said, “practically perfect, in every way.” Oddly enough, others struggle to spell “resume,” “vacuum,” “permanently,” and other words that would otherwise seem simple.
