Many may relate to this line from Lorde’s 2013 single “Royals,” but Charles and the rest of the English royal family certainly can’t. When Queen Elizabeth II died on September 8, 2022, she left an iconic legacy as the second-longest-reigning monarch in history and a vacuum that only her son Charles could fill.
But being King isn’t all it’s cut out to be. Considering how many new rules King Charles must adhere to after his change in status, one can’t help but agree that heavy is indeed the head that bears the crown. However, it turns out these strict rules aren’t just for the King alone.
